The Beginning / Los Inicios
From a Dream to Reality
What started as a simple idea in 2021 took two years of dreaming, planning, and preparation. On July 6, 2024, Street Munchies MKE officially opened — no grand launch, no big ceremony. Just two people, a food truck, and an unshakeable belief that Milwaukee deserved authentic Dominican street food.
Neither of us had any idea how to run a food business. We simply believed in ourselves, rolled up our sleeves, and figured it out together — one burger at a time.
Lo que comenzó como una simple idea en el 2021 tomó dos años de sueños, planificación y preparación. El 6 de julio de 2024, Street Munchies MKE abrió oficialmente — sin gran inauguración, sin ceremonia. Solo dos personas, un food truck, y la convicción de que Milwaukee merecía comida callejera dominicana auténtica.
Ninguno de los dos sabía cómo manejar un negocio de comida. Simplemente creímos en nosotros mismos, nos arremangamos y lo fuimos descubriendo juntos — una hamburguesa a la vez.

Kharla Flores
The Boss — La Jefa
Born in Puerto Rico, Kharla is the engine that keeps Street Munchies running. Numbers, operations, logistics, customer experience — she handles it all with precision and heart.
Nacida en Puerto Rico, Kharla es el motor que mantiene Street Munchies funcionando. Números, operaciones, logística — ella maneja todo con precisión y corazón.

Why Milwaukee?
The answer was simple — nobody was doing it. Dominican street food didn’t exist in Milwaukee. We saw an empty space and decided to fill it with bold flavors, authentic recipes, and Caribbean soul.
No investors, no big backing. Just two people betting on themselves, side by side, mano a mano.
La respuesta fue simple — nadie lo estaba haciendo. La comida callejera dominicana no existía en Milwaukee. Vimos un espacio vacío y decidimos llenarlo con sabores atrevidos, recetas auténticas y alma caribeña.
Sin inversionistas, sin gran respaldo. Solo dos personas apostando por ellos mismos, hombro a hombro, mano a mano.
